| | The R1070 Goods Master Diesel Freight set from Hornby is a superb starter set boasting a tough little shunting loco which is more than capable of pulling the wagons around the oval of track in this set. The loco is based on a Class 06 Diesel locomotive which saw most of it's working life toiling away in the goods yards and sidings of Scotland.
This starter set also includes a Hornby Midi TrakMat complete with an oval of track and with the addition of Hornby Track and Accessory Packs, it's possible to build up a simple layout with two ovals and two sidings.

Fantastic buy, very good value. Son played with this for ages and is now looking at other sets. It was great fun and he couldn't wait to get it out of the box. This will give hours of fun to any child.

Bougth this for my 8yr old son and he's had great fun. He likes the train and it's quite robust. It comes with one circuit and no buildings, hence the 4 stars. I would buy some points, track, buffers and buildings to go with this and make it more fun. Those do add to the cost and there are some Hornby sets with these already in, for less money than this one. Having said that, it's a nice train set and my son likes the Diesel Goods Master train.

We've had the trainset for a month and its still working fine. It could be a bit cheaper though.
